North Eastern Adventure Has Begun!

I apologize for the lateness of this post, I am well into my NE Adventure. I have already been back and forth between NYC and PA for one round. Started in NY, went to PA, and I am now currently back in NY, sitting at Rachel's desk. I must say I have been quite the New Yorka in my stay. Rather than having a seasoned guide as I usually do, I have been on my own for getting around the city. I got myself a unlimited weekly metro card and have been rocking the bus/subway system ever since!
My first day in the city I met my uncle at the hospital, had an x-ray and met with the doctor. He is just as amazing as I thought he would be and I am in love/obsessed with his staff. We went over the game plan for the surgery and was told it will be three parts. I am having 1) a derotation osteotomy 2) hip scope 3) labral debrement. I am glad he is doing it all in one surgery instead of going back in again later on. While I was at the doctors I got to meet a lady who had the same thing as me but where my hip goes out hers goes in. It was really cool to talk to her. We found out that she lives in OKC, she was referred by the same doctor as me, but three years earlier. What a small world. I didn't even know my Dallas doctor had lived anywhere else! She comes to Dallas often and we have plans to meet up. It was really great getting to talk to someone who had already gone through what I am about to.
I went to the hospital yesterday for my MRI. I must say my experience was quite fabulous, as much as an MRI can be great this one was! It was a quick 40 minutes, they didn't waste any time between scans, they told me how long each scan was, and I had music... oh the music! Well the MRI tech very kindly got me all tucked in and covered up then asked what kind of music I liked. Thinking she would just put on a radio station or satellite I said "the current hits are good." That way I know there will be a good mix and I don't have to commit to a genre. Well low and behold this kind, but not 100% English speaking, lady gave me hard core rap. Needless to say it was an interesting 40 minute lie-down.
Anywho the scans and images are hopefully over for good. I know there will be X-rays in my future, but one can hope that I have maxed out on MRI's & CT scans!
Well that is all I have to report for now. I have my pre-op appointment on Monday and then head back to PA for the week to celebrate my cousins wedding. Happy weekend to all!

I like to look at this quote to ground me. It reminds that no matter how stressed or worried I may be about something, I need to live life for the here and now.
