30/31 Week Combo

Holy Smokes 30 weeks seems so far into this thing! And what a week it was!! Baby J enjoyed a week in NOLA, we had our first Birthbootcamp Class, and 30 week check up (sono included)! My o'my what we learned at this checkup...
Here are the cliff notes on our sweet baby boy:
- He was weighing in at 4lbs 4oz
- He is measuring in the 89% percentile (taking after Uncle PJ & Daddy)
- He is still a boy (Ruthie Poothie)
- We are having a bonus sono at 36 weeks to determine where he is then. Dr. J may want to induce early (more thoughts on that below).
- Our boy has a head full of lots of hair already!!! (taking after mommy)
- He likes to put his foot in my right ribs. Especially when he is hungry (note the picture below).
- We have officially moved to check ups every 2 weeks. This is real y'all!
- We had our NOLA baby shower and could not be more grateful for all the love in this babies life. He has no idea yet, but man is this kid loved. It was an amazing day full of friends and family and we couldn't say thank you enough!!
- We asked Lauren and Patrick to be god parents!! They both were thrilled, it was an amazing experience!

Baby J's sweet little foot in mommies rib. Thank you son!

I apologize for the nudity here, but how funny that the sono tech wrote "Still A Boy" I couldn't help but laugh.

Thoughts on the possibility of inducing early... I know they are premature thoughts because we wont know for a few weeks here. But I am torn. Is he really gonna be huge or is this just a big baby scare? If I don't induce early will he be to big for me to deliver naturally? If I do induce is that okay? What if he wasn't ready yet? I have many questions like this...I am not worried because I know that everything works out how it is supposed too, just things I am thinking. I definitely need to talk to Dr. J some more and get the skinny!

Here are a list of things we discussed at Bootcamp that can all help with natural labor! I had to keep it for recall purposes of course!

Nursery Updates:
Lots of exciting things to report here!! Many of the decor things I wanted to accomplish we did! We are having a baby BBQ this weekend at the house for our Dallas peeps and I wanted to have more done for Baby J! Fortunately my HubsMan is a big ole trooper and loves me to pieces because he has done a project a night this week. Sweet man! We have:
- The curtains hung
- Book shelves spray painted and hung. With books on them might I add (thank you baby shower)
- Alphabet spray painted. modge podged, and hung!
- Baby J's blue gingham chair put together
- A small lamp table next to the rocker (thank you sista for the wedding donation)
- Finally bought a crib mattress and the closet door organizational things, among other baby things (thank you so much generous daddy who is already spoiling his grandson)

I swear the letters are navy and scrapbook paper. They just look black in photos. Alsooo we have since bought a changing pad cover!

Yay curtains! Again, they are navy and not black! And don't worry kids, the crib now has a mattress. I will put a crib photo in a later post!

Book shelves (Ikea spice racks spray painted navy) and Baby J's chair. I would have loved to get it monogrammed, but that would mean telling the name...Shhhh It is a secret! Books! Thank you NOLA frands and fam!

Pregnancy Stats:
Week: 31 weeks!

Weight Gain: I will let y'all know that I have officially hit the 30lb weight gain... I told myself I did not want to gain more than 40 (45 at the most). So I hope this stays true. I know that my body is meant to do as it pleases so I wont allow myself to make it a negative, no matter what.

Maternity Clothes: Same ole same ole... however my three pairs of non maternity workout pants are getting a wee bit snug.

Wedding Ring On/Off: On

Sleeping: Pretty well! Cant complain.... My hips fall a sleep when I stay on one side too long. But that is small change!

Weekly Highlight: My daddy is here for a few days!!! SO.EXCITED!

Stretch Marks: Unfortunately I believe that my first ones are making their appearance. Only on the right side of my belly button. They are small so I am hoping it is a fluke. I've been lathering Palmers and Burts Bees on!

Cravings/Food Things: Not the one!

Labor Signs: Nope. Thank you baby! I know that I have entered the window of Braxton Hicks, so here is hoping we don't have those.

Missing Anything In Particular This Week: Being able to bend over without a belly in the way. It is making many yoga poses very tricky. But I love my belly and my baby so when I find myself not being able to get into a pose and feel it as I want I just remind myself it is all for this beautiful baby boy.

Weekly Mood: Super Happy! We have gotten so many baby related things accomplished this week! (more deets above)

Whatcha Looking Forward Too: Bootcamp tonight!!! And our baby BBQ this weekend. We wanted to celebrate with our Dallas peeps, so what better than beer and a casual bbq!?!

Workout This Week: Yoga and walks!!!

Now that looks like a preggies belly to me! Holy Moly it is growing!

29 Weeks: We Are an Acorn Squash!! (75ish more days!!)

Wowza!! When you say it like that, wowza!!! 75 more days seems like nothing! And there is still lots to do!!!

Dear Baby J,
My darling baby boy, I have been wondering a lot about you this week. What will you look like? Will you have daddies thick beautiful straight hair or mommies crazy curly thin hair? What color will your eyes be? Are you gonna be a chunk or a little thing? There are so many questions! All in due time I know, I cannot wait to meet you! However, please stay in my belly as long as you need to! No rush here, we want you to grow and grow and grow!! We love you so much already, it is crazy how you can love someone you have never met! But I feel like I know you so well!!!

Random Baby Updates:
- He has very particular times that he likes to move: Before I am about to eat (when we are collectively hungry), after we eat (thank you mommy that was yummy!), when we lay down to go to bed, and when Chris' alarm goes off in the am. He also moves other random times throughout the day, but these are daily occurrences!
- I actually saw... SAW my belly move today!!! Holy weird and crazy and exciting!! I hope Chris gets to see it!!
- The two bellies are slowly working towards one... here is hoping!

Nursery Update:
-  I got a pillow for the rocker. It is a yellow color. Going to a pop of color different from the tan/white/navy we have got going on.
- Chris and I spray painted all the letters navy and I modge podged scrapbook paper on to a few of the letters. I am hoping this works out. I have tried to plan this out, but am realizing that I just cant. I have to go with the flow! (Side Note: When you spray paint letters make sure they are facing the correct way. We realized along the way that a good 5/6 were backwards. haha)
- I am hunting for a rug and lamp. More the rug right now because I need to test an end table from my mother in law.
- I am also hunting for curtains. We registered for them on Pottery Barn. And I love them. But in case we are not gifted them I wanted to see what else was out there.

In Other News:
My most fabulous husband got me an early birthday and your gonna be a mama presents! A fridge/freezer for the garage andddd a Neato! Neato is a handsfree little vacuum guy that makes my life so nice! He just does his thing, ignoring the dog when she choses to be fiesty or working around me making breakfast. My floors feel fab and I dont have to run my Shark every other day now! Dont worry Shark you are still amazing and I love you!

Here are the Weekly Updates

Wedding Ring On/Off: on and feels great! I have a friend who is a week ahead of me and she just had to take hers off due to the swelling.

Stretch Marks:  None that I see

Week: 28 Weeks, Welcome to the final months babycakes!

Weight Gain: I am feeling insecure and fat, so I shall be removing this tidbit of info from zee blog!

Maternity Clothes: Same ones as before, however I have tortured myself by trying on "regular" clothes. I did find two potential baby shower outfits though! Non-maternity, nice and flowy, and hopefully make my un-merged two tummies look like one cute basketball belly!

Note the two bellies in the photo below-
2 tummies meet... I want a basketball!

Wedding Ring On/Off: on and fitting normally

Sleeping: I seem to have progressed to many position changes throughout the night, but only two potty breaks... here is hoping!

Stretch Marks: None that I can see

Cravings/Food Things: I am on week one of no desert. I feel like I let all my control go in the second trimester, so I am trying to end strong!

Labor Signs: Nope, but man does this little man love to move! We have been feeling him kick and do the wave all over the place! Christopher got to feel him, FINALLY. We were watching the World Cup final and Baby J decided to prove to his daddy what an athlete he will be. I know his daddy is a proud papa!

Missing Anything In Particular This Week: being able to bend over without pressure and tying my shoes without having to get into a yoga position.

Weekly Mood: Accepting of my changing body

27 Weeks!!! (So Much for the Weekly Update...3 Weeks Later)

Week: 27 Weeks (I mean that seems like basically 30 to me...holy cow!)

Weight Gain: I am feeling exceptionally fat after a weekend home to NOLA and the lake for the 4th, So i opt out this week. Hopefully returning to my normal routine will make me feel better!

Maternity Clothes: Same as last post. I may go looking at some stores today. Just to browse. I need a baby shower dress! It is almost baby shower time...geez um!

Wedding Ring On/Off: On!

Sleeping: Pretty well these last few nights

Weekly Highlight: I have been told I look pregnant, lots of times. So that is super exciting! I keep waiting for my two tummies to merge, then I get the basketball belly! Hopefully it happens!

Stretch Marks: Not that I notice, but my body is covered in scratches right now from the puppy swim lessons at the lake.

Cravings/Food Things: Nothing major... I have been on a nectarine and peach kick. Yummy summer fruits. And I have eaten and wanted way more chocolate, like cookie cake. Which I am fairly certain I do not even like! I don't know if it is just because I want it or if I want it bc I can have it.

Labor Signs: Nope, and lets hold off on this for a while!

Missing Anything In Particular This Week: Regular clothes shopping. I tortured myself yesterday and tried on regular non maternity clothes.... not a good choice Julie, NOT.A.Good.Choice.

Weekly Mood: I have been aggravated a bit more this week. But only a certain person does the aggravation to me...

Whatcha Looking Forward Too: I cannot wait for my baby shower! To celebrate with my friends and family. It will feel real!!

Workout This Week: I have been walking Liuzza 4 miles a day. In 2 mile increments. I need to get back to my yoga and spin schedule. It has just been off recently.

Week 24: Preggies Update!

It is my goal to AT LEAST be able to post a weekly pregnancy update! I have far from exceeded my goals as a "blogger" and hope to change my tune! I gave my blog a face lift so I need to seriously use it!

Here is a small photo snippet of my pregnancy so far. I have been taking pictures each week, but they were more for my records and such than anything. I figured I can post a baby "bump" (if you can even call my belly that) picture every week or so. One thing I have realized is that I had done a very good job losing weight before I got pregnant, so pat on the back to me!
These six photos are from weeks - 10wks, 18wks, 20wks, 21wks, 22wks & 23wks

Week:  24 Weeks!

Weight Gain: It changes, I am at about 15-18 now. I gained only 3 lbs in my first trimester. So all my weight has been gained right here in good ole numba dos.

Maternity Clothes: I bought my first maternity pants. Both skinny jeans, one dark denim and one pinky/coral. I so love the over belly fabric. These suckers are comfy!! I have been good with all my other clothes so far. However I feel the pressure from many of my workout/yoga pants. So I may be investing in a few more pairs of those. Just go up a size or look for a stretchy band.

Wedding Ring On/Off: On and feeling fab!

Workout: This week was so so. Yoga 4 times and spin twice.

Sleeping: I basically wake up at every noise, not new! However I get up to pee 3/4 times a night. I have some really good nights sleeps and others not so much. I am recovering from Titine & Rachel's wedding weekend. Meaning it will take me a week to not feel like a zombie....

Weekly Highlight: hmmmm I still cant get over feeling Baby J! I love every wave and pulse! I cant wait for HubsMan to get to feel him!

Stretch Marks: none that I can tell. I have always had some because my weight has always been a yo-yo. But none that seem to be a result of pregnancy. I put Burt's Bees Mama (lemon & vitamin E oil) on each night and Palmers Stretch Mark lotion on each morning.

Cravings/Food Things: Nothing that stands out. I have been on a large carbo kick since day one of pregnancy. That is still going strong. I eat a lot of eggs & avocado on toast! I guess I have been on an Annies Fruit Snacks kick & I recently discover Plum Organic Go Bars... LOVE THEM!

Labor Signs: Negative and lets hope it stays that way for many a week!

Missing Anything In Particular This Week: always missing sushi, but nothing particular standing out.

Weekly Mood: Tired this week! And frustrated because of the puppies recovery from being spayed... Not sure that is a pregnancy thing though

Whatcha Looking Forward Too: Having the full on preggies belly! I want the basketball!! I am still in that phase where if you don't know I am pregnant you are not sure.... I could just be fat

This Weeks Bonus Questions:
Belly Button Popped: Nope

Gender: It is a BOY! We found out at 20 weeks. We are gonna keep his name a secret though!

Thats all for now! I hope to consistently report back each week!

Slacker Status No More!!! (hopefully....)

Sooooo it appears as with many projects in my life, I began strong and fizzled out. Hence why I havent had a post since October  2013. And what a shame I let that happen too! There have been so many exciting things to report on the Janes front! So with this post I shall update about life and the exciting happenings, and then I hope to blog weekly.... I mean I am pregnant, so a weekly update is a must right!?!

Wellll here are the major life events of the Janes Family since October 2013:
- I sucessfully (we think) had hip surgery. At my 6 week check up all looked well. I definately feel much better.  I still have pain here and there, but I think that may be part of the package.
- We finally got our furbaby: Liuzza Nashville Janes!
- My blog got a face lift! Thank you Pink Loves Gold!!
- We have celebrated many weddings with those we love!
- We have welcome many friends babies into the world!
- We celebrated our first year of marriage and our first year of being homeowners!
- Andddd Drumroll please.... We are expecting our first little bundle October 5th! He is going to be so loved!!!

There is a quick update, and a step in the direction of getting my foot back in the door of blogging. I hope to give a weekly update on my pregnancy (pictures included, beware) if I can figure out how to correctly use my blog and its pages!

North Eastern Adventure Has Begun!

I apologize for the lateness of this post, I am well into my NE Adventure. I have already been back and forth between NYC and PA for one round. Started in NY, went to PA, and I am now currently back in NY, sitting at Rachel's desk. I must say I have been quite the New Yorka in my stay. Rather than having a seasoned guide as I usually do, I have been on my own for getting around the city. I got myself a unlimited weekly metro card and have been rocking the bus/subway system ever since!
My first day in the city I met my uncle at the hospital, had an x-ray and met with the doctor. He is just as amazing as I thought he would be and I am in love/obsessed with his staff. We went over the game plan for the surgery and was told it will be three parts. I am having 1) a derotation osteotomy 2) hip scope 3) labral debrement. I am glad he is doing it all in one surgery instead of going back in again later on. While I was at the doctors I got to meet a lady who had the same thing as me but where my hip goes out hers goes in. It was really cool to talk to her. We found out that she lives in OKC, she was referred by the same doctor as me, but three years earlier. What a small world. I didn't even know my Dallas doctor had lived anywhere else! She comes to Dallas often and we have plans to meet up. It was really great getting to talk to someone who had already gone through what I am about to.
I went to the hospital yesterday for my MRI. I must say my experience was quite fabulous, as much as an MRI can be great this one was! It was a quick 40 minutes, they didn't waste any time between scans, they told me how long each scan was, and I had music... oh the music! Well the MRI tech very kindly got me all tucked in and covered up then asked what kind of music I liked. Thinking she would just put on a radio station or satellite I said "the current hits are good." That way I know there will be a good mix and I don't have to commit to a genre. Well low and behold this kind, but not 100% English speaking, lady gave me hard core rap. Needless to say it was an interesting 40 minute lie-down.
Anywho the scans and images are hopefully over for good. I know there will be X-rays in my future, but one can hope that I have maxed out on MRI's & CT scans!
Well that is all I have to report for now. I have my pre-op appointment on Monday and then head back to PA for the week to celebrate my cousins wedding. Happy weekend to all!

I like to look at this quote to ground me. It reminds that no matter how stressed or worried I may be about something, I need to live life for the here and now.
